The Castle B&B is such a wonderful & historic place to stay. We stayed with Ellie and her husband in September 2005 when our son entered Drexel University for his Freshman year. We currently live in Germany (past 18 years) and found this to be just like a home away from home. The room decor and the owners enthusiasm that we chose their B&B to stay at was well worth the price. Well we are headed back again 2 years later as our son enters his Junior year and have had success in stitching our time away in the Sewing Room. Now that the main floor renovation is complete, I am sure we can enjoy the ambiance of the Castle even more. 5 stars from Germany!

We recently stayed for 3 days at the Castle B&B in University City, Philadelphia. I can really recommend it; it is a beautiful old house, nicely decorated in a cozy-intellectual-begin 20th century-style. Very Philadelphian. You are welcomed by friendly lady and her two cats. She can give you all the information needed to plan your day-trips. The rooms all have their own style (ours has a funny little turret). It is well cleaned every day. Every morning fresh breads, fruit, tea/coffee and yogurt, etc. are provided. It is located in University City, which was once built as a nice middle-class suburb, ran down a bit, but on the rise again. It is lively and safe, near nice little restaurants, and of course, the student-filled campuses of UPenn/Wharton and Drexel very close by. Center-city is easily reached by the trolley lines, they go underground in center-city and connect to the subway there.
